Summary About the Position:Serves as a Human Resources Specialist (Military) for The Judge Advocate General Legal Center and School (LCS). The employee is the military personnel administrator for the command providing advice, guidance, and technical expertise to the Command Team, senior leaders,supervisors, and individual Soldiers on military personnel management issues. Provides Military Personnel HR support across the pillars of Strength Management, HR Planning and Operations,and Military HR Support. Responsibilities Manages the military personnel inventory to include management and execution of the officer distribution and requisition plan. Assists in the reviewing, staffing, and tracking of all military awards and evaluations Acts as liaison to Military Personnel Division and Defense Military Pay Office for Army related personnel and pay issues. Executes distribution management, assignment, and reassignment of all military personnel within the organization. Implements policies and programs for military personnel management actions and programs to include requisitions, assignments, deferments, retirements, and separations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: the use of Army Human Resources systems and Providing guidance and advice to senior leaders on military personnel issues. Developing alternate solutions to minimize manpower structuring; Providing military personnel with HR support.I posses a Practical knowledge of assignment instructions and assignment orders production. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service Information Management Personnel and Human Resources Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a(n) 50 Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Advanced Leave Accural is not authorized Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed NTE 13 Months by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition
