Logitech Data Governance Technical Lead in Chennai, India

The Role:

The Data Governance Technical Lead will work as part of the D&I Architecture team and will be responsible for

  • Technical Design, implementation and enhancement of data governance platform, tools and data / metadata management processes within the Logitech Organization that are scalable across the entire organization

  • Work in tandem with the Data Governance Architect, cybersecurity, privacy and business teams for Data Governance, Data Quality and Security solutions for data across different source systems.

  • Design and implement cross functional workflows, services and integrations that overlap cybersecurity, privacy and data management processes.

  • Design and implement supporting systems to define, benchmark, control and improve data quality

  • This position will be located in Chennai.

  • As part of implementing a Data Governance Framework, you will:

  • Design and Develop data governance solutions to implement Governance policies and procedures to ensure the quality and integrity of the organization's data.

  • Create Solutions for Data Catalog, Data Dictionary, Data Lineage, Data Security and Access including Row Level, Column Level, and data masking/ tokenization/ encryption.

  • Implement decisions of the data governance steering committee in data management solutions to conform with policies and standards across the organization.

  • Provide guidance and support to departments / business groups and data owners to ensure compliance with data governance policies and standards.

  • Collaborate with the wider IT, Cybersecurity, Privacy teams to implement data governance and data quality tools and technologies to support data management and data quality initiatives across all the Enterprise IT Solutions.

  • Provide Governance and Integration processes for Master Data programs including Customer, Consumer and Product MDM Data Programs so that the approach is consistent and compliant across the entire organization.

  • Enforce Change Management Processes to ensure Governance is maintained with each deployment to production.

  • As part of implementing a Data Quality Framework, you will:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to establish data quality standards, benchmarks, and guidelines.

  • Work with the Data Governance Architect to lead the development and implementation of data quality improvement initiatives, including data catalog creation with clear data definitions, accountable data owners, clear data access rules, data cleansing and enrichment initiatives.

  • Design the technical architecture and landscape to support Single Sources of Truth for each Data source or metric and promote reusability for reporting and advanced analytics.

  • Define and enable solutions for measuring and monitoring of key data quality metrics and KPIs to ensure effectiveness of data governance initiatives.

  • Establish and maintain data quality monitoring and reporting processes to identify and address data quality issues.

  • Ensure success of Gen AI programs by creating an enterprise data layer with data quality for training Gen AI platforms and tools

  • As part of Implementing a Central Data Platform, you will:

  • Design and develop a Strategy for a Central Data Platform which will support the Data Governance Strategy across all functions in the enterprise.

  • Collaborate with the extended Data & Insights team to implement Central Data Platform design for Enterprise data governance / lineage and quality processes

  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture team for a scalable Integration design and process as part of the Central Data Platform and ensure that best practices and industry standards are implemented.

  • Create and Maintain excellent working relationships with our business partners at all levels and across all the business functions including Cybersecurity, Privacy, Legal, GFT and Internal Audit..

  • Liaise with other cross-functional and technical teams including Enterprise Architecture team for specialist input to drive the solution delivery.

  • Educate and train employees on the importance of data governance and data quality and promote a data-driven culture within the organization.

  • Help define the different phases and timelines of the Data Governance Program and manage the delivery team to ensure the success of the Program.

  • Participate in documentation, training, and delivery efforts in concert with other team members

  • Coordinate user acceptance testing efforts as needed

  • Conduct regular meeting routines with global/functional teams and internal teams to facilitate communication, monitor activities, track progress, manage budget and address/resolve issues.

  • Work with the Architecture and Program Management team to document formal project plans including Charters, Communication Plans, Timelines, Risks/Issues, Action Logs, Status Updates, etc

  • Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of the business's current technology and infrastructure from a functional perspective

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field with 6+ years of professional experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in data management, governance, privacy, security or related disciplines

  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing and leading technical implementation of governance initiatives across data domains.

  • Data Modeling skills to create technical designs and solutions for Data Management and Data Quality

  • Excellent cross-discipline communication via written and verbal communication

  • Strong understanding of cloud centric architecture

  • Experience in Leading SAAS database platforms

In addition, preferable skills and behaviors include:

  • Experience in leading teams for implementation of cross functional Data Governance programs from scratch in the organization in collaboration with Cybersecurity and Privacy teams

  • Experience in identifying areas for improvement in data governance processes, and proven ability to develop enterprise competencies in data modeling and creation of ‘single sources of truth’ for analytical and AI use, research data protection and security of data and data-intensive applications

  • Experience working with Market Leading DG tools

  • Proven track record of managing and monitoring data governance workflows and projects

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Business Development, Privacy, Compliance and IT

  • Strong collaboration skills

  • Ability to provide guidance and recommendations on data protection requirements and best practices
