Meet the Team
The DSE Platform Independent Common (PI-Common) group owns the development of PI software that operates across Cisco's flagship routers and switches. Our team crafts and builds high-performance system software for a range of Cisco platforms, including Enterprise Switching and Routers, Data Center Switches, and Service Provider Routing Platforms,
Your Impact
We work on developing new features and fixing bugs related to the MPLS LDP protocol, addressing both customer-specific and technology initiatives.
We collaborate with adjacent software teams to ensure high-quality software delivery, focusing on meeting webscaler demands.
We conduct peer code and design reviews to maintain high standards.
We develop automated tests to facilitate a flawless handoff to the Test team and build detailed software specifications.
We handle customer queries and actively participate in triages for effective issue resolution.
Minimum Qualifications (Required)
A master’s degree, or a bachelor’s degree with over 8 years of experience, in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields, along with more than 4 years of meaningful experience in internetworking technologies and applications, is required.
Good experience in developing s/w in C, under multi-threaded environment with Excellent problem-solving skills
Hands on Data Structures, Operating Systems and Concepts of Data Networking
Exposure to development of software for large/complex network devices including routing & switching systems.
Experience in development of Layer 2 (Ethernet) and/or Layer 3 Networking or Overlay protocols including MPLS LDP, Routing, IPV4/6 (unicast/multicast) Is preferable
Preferred Qualifications (Good to have)
- Experience in any Cisco OS - XR, XE or NXOS would be a plus
