The Role: The Accountant plays a vital role within the organization working with Accounts Payables and Receivables, as well as working with other facets of Finance and with HR on payroll functions.

Responsibilities:

• Manage Accounts Payable
• Manage Accounts Receivable
• Record Fixed Assets
• Manage and respond to inquiries from vendors
• Conduct monthly bank (checking, savings, and credit card) and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Monthly Allocations: Allocate direct costs and expenses to appropriate cost centers. Allocate monthly indirect costs to program and grant cost centers. Allocate shared costs (rent, supplies, etc.) to program cost centers.
• Foster Parent Home Accounts: Work with Business Managers at each site to ensure timely reporting on home budgets. Import costs derived from Home Accounts into Financial Edge
• Audit preparation:Assist with outside accounting firm to prepare for the audit, including fixed asset/depreciation schedule, vacation accruals, payroll reconciliations, and provide auditor with records as requested for testing.
• Payroll:Work with Human Resources to process payroll via 3rdparty payroll vendors. Import payroll data into Accounting software, Financial Edge. Review expense reports and submit with payroll.
• Other duties as assigned.
