Google Financial Analyst, AI/ML Portfolio Management, Core Finance in Chicago, Illinois

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, consulting, a related function, or an advanced degree.

  • Experience in an analyst role supporting Financial Analysis, Portfolio Management, Due Diligence, and related functions.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with building data infrastructure (e.g., designing architecture, building data pipelines, implementing scalable monitoring) and implementing reporting solutions.

  • Experience with data center hardware technology and data center capacity planning and budgeting.

  • Experience in developing strategies in fast-paced environments.

  • Ability to work with data to produce analysis, influencing decision making with numerical analysis and generating insights.

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to communicate insights to technical management teams and align business leaders on recommendations and decisions.

As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. While working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges.

In this role, you will support Finance, Product, and Engineering teams across Google, and will help support Machine Learning through increasing the ease and speed of landing product innovations, delivering scalable compute infrastructure, and driving sustained hardware innovation and making it accessible and scalable.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $108,000-$158,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Engage with Product Area Finance and other central business partner teams to understand ML capacity demand across Google, and collaborate to ensure alignment on single source of truth (SSOT) datasets for reporting.

  • Review and perform diligence on Product Area business plans to understand technical workload requirements, projected value generation, and prioritization of investment requests.

  • Perform analyses in support of Finance and ML leadership to ensure investment decisions are in line with Google’s strategic priorities, and implement internal dashboards to furnish standardized data perspectives.

  • Establish monthly/quarter reports on portfolio performance, trends, and product area analyses against goals, track performance of existing AI/ML allocations, and identify potential issues/areas for re-balancing.

  • Assist with due diligence processes on potential AI/ML allocation needs, including business workload requirements.
