Job Title:
Ocean Freight Logistics Manager
STRATEGY:
Designs, leads, and directs the entire direct to consumer Supply Chain operation including setting the vision and standards that are aligned with company goals and objectives, directing the function, building a strong team aligned with the strategy, and leading the major functions inherent within scope of responsibility.
Builds strong alliances up, down, across and outside the organization that will enable an industry-leading transformation resulting in increased conversion, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty. Leads continuous improvement in the end-to-end supply chain to provide a critical strategic advantage to the company.
Plans and execute strategic growth initiatives across the supply chain in inventory, distribution center and order fulfillment.
Develop and implement strategic growth initiatives and best in class supply chain processes including cross-border logistics, warehouse operations and retail operations.
Continuously evaluates all aspects of operations to identify opportunities to optimize cost and fund improvements in the supply chain and deliver P&L savings.
OPERATIONS:
Responsible for the operation of company owned/operated and third party operated distribution facilities including compliance/scorecard performance/vendor management/financial penalties and chargebacks and maximizing inbound & outbound carrier fleet effectiveness/opportunities.
Manage the global transportation function and establish strategies to optimize shipping costs across providers and improve service levels. Evaluate and guide the relationship with 3rd party vendor ensuring a seamless partnership and full transparency.
Ensures robust metrics are in place to measure the effectiveness of supply chain management processes, including creating systems to measure supplier performance, inventory and delivery metrics, and procurement metrics against financial plans and best in class standards.
Utilizes tools to monitor and report KPI data for performance improvements.
Establish vendor performance metrics and quarterly performance reviews to effectively evaluate and manage partnerships.
Identifies areas where the company can improve its competitive position through technology, flexibility, and negotiated relationships.
Evaluates and adapts both the short and long-term operating plans to support the company’s growth, creating a roadmap of processes, capital improvements and technology projects with supporting ROI that enable and scale the strategy.
Develop and manage an annual budget, operating plan and capital investment plans.
Establish and maintain logistics service provider relationships including performance accountability and rate negotiations
Responsible for logistics budget and freight rate KPI’s in adherence with a value-oriented supply chain (cost per container, cost per carton)
Responsible for invoice management (submission / validation / disputes resolution), including third party payment services.
MANAGEMENT:
Balance innovation with execution and work effectively with cross-functional partners to develop and implement short term and long-term strategies.
Ensure cohesiveness in strategy and goal alignment with Finance, IT, and Planning & Allocation.
Manage multiple teams including warehousing/distribution, logistics and 3rd party providers.
Oversee the Customs compliance team including tariff classification, first sale and annual customs compliance audits
Attracts, develops, mentors, and leads best-in-class talent to drive the Supply Chain agenda forward.
Provides clear leadership and direction, driving organizational accountability and sustained business growth.
