B&N Civil Engineer Co-op Responsibilities:

• Work with a team of experienced civil engineers on innovative roadway projects such preliminary roadway studies, interchange, urban street, and multimodal design, safety studies, and construction plan development
• Gain an understanding of roadway engineering design elements by assisting with calculating cost estimates, developing transportation plans, and utilizing geometric design techniques
• Develop CAD knowledge and plan production skills from Professional Engineers while becoming familiar with the consulting engineering community's role in creating and enhancing the transportation systems of the region
• Learn the basics of industry specific 3D modeling design software like MicroStation

Skills and Qualifications:

• You are a current student in good academic standing pursuing a degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or university and have completed at least one year of your undergraduate degree
• You have a strong interest in roadway engineering; previous co-ops are a plus
• Proficient using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
• Experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD drawing software packages preferred
