About the School of Information Technology The School of Information Technology (SoIT) is a national leader in studying solutions and needs that connect people, information, and the technology of the time. The SoIT is home to Ohio's first Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Information Technology. In addition, it is home to Ohio's first ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. The SoIT has been growing at 20% annually and currently serves more than 2,300 students with 32 full-time faculty members, 30 full-time staff, and 39 adjunct faculty. The SoIT is home to several centers including an NSA/DHS Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, the Information Technology Solutions Center, the Ohio Cyber Range Institute, Applied Machine Learning and Intelligence Center, and the Civic Technologies Lab, and the newly formed Information Technology Analytics Center. Job Overview The instructional technologist will be part of the Course Success Team in the School of Information Technology. The Course Success Team provides support to faculty to ensure overall success for our students and our faculty. The instructional technologist will provide support and resources for online and in-person courses in the School of Information Technology. They will ensure support materials are consistent with sound instructional principles and standards. Essential Functions Provide support to faculty on technical LMS and university software tickets. Audit all online content for consistency, alignment, and logical flow. Support the Course Success Team essential processes including course audits, course copies, and course content distribution to external partners. Create support guidance, knowledge resources and documented best practices for online tools and courses, e.g. digital text, graphics, animation, audio, and video. Coordinate with subject matter experts to develop knowledge resources and best practices in order to support the delivery of online courses. Keep current with accessibility issues, compatibility issues and emerging technologies as appropriate for online learning materials and management systems.
