Individuals have primary responsibility for the design, development, maintenance and governance of business intelligence solutions (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, SSAS, SSRS, etc) that support decision making within the Power Grid Operations (Transmission & Distribution) organizations. Individuals should have strong technical skills (SQL, BI Tools, data analysis) along with an understanding of work and outage management systems to help internal customers get the solutions they need.They should be skilled in planning, data analysis, evaluating alternatives, and preparing and presenting recommendations. Responsibilities Work with internal customers on the development of requirements around their BI needs Development of medium to complex solutions using Power BI or any of the other BI tools (SQL Server Reporting Services, Power Automate, Power Apps, Python, etc) Support creation and maintenance of models and cubes in SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) or Power BI Develop medium to complex SQL against either Oracle or SQL Server databases Interface with internal organizations such as Finance, Project Management or Reliability Governance to facilitate solution delivery Coordinate with Information Technology on requests Develop solutions to complex business problems in a systematic manner Uses technical understanding of existing reporting warehouses, or may develop local warehouses when necessary to support the development of solutions Using Project Management fundamentals to help drive projects and initiatives to successful conclusions Document warehouses to support cross training of co-workers Additional Responsibilities Provides / serves as a central contact for technical expertise and business process guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems and the advancement of opportunities. Implements and integrates complex business changes across multiple, cross-functional depts. Resolves complex system & business process problems. Analyzes and develops plan of action to correct or eliminate future issues. Designs, revises and implements solutions to meet customer and business needs. Works to integrate solutions into existing business processes. Helps to manage change and communications across multiple departments. Prepares thorough and accurate technical and business management reports, effective correspondence, accurate documentation and well-maintained records. Coordinates and manages subject matter experts from a variety of disciplines and support organizations toprovide business and system requirementsand validation forbusiness & IT projects Responsible for establishing policy and procedures for specific system security in compliance with corporate IT standards. Define and develop key metrics to measure system/business performance. Lead data analysis and/or root cause investigation that are across multiple work groups or multiple systems. Provide future direction to external vendors for development of products to resolve business issues. Coordinate the development of the long-range and 5-year business plans, and budget for the department and assigned locations to ensure compliance with Company strategic plans. Coaches and mentors business and technical consultants as needed.
