ManpowerGroup SWISS Programmer/Engineering Technician in Clearwater, Minnesota

Manpower Engineering is working with a global leader within the medical device industry for an Engineering Technician/CNC Programmer (SWISS background).

Title: Engineering Technician/CNC Programmer – DIRECT HIRE

Location: Coon Rapids, MN (Occasional travel to Big Lake)

Compensation: $35 - $42/hour

Schedule: 45.5 hours a week (Mon-Thurs 10 hours; Fri – 5.5 hours) OT is paid for every hour after 8 hours in a day.

POSITION SUMMARY :

This role is working with Engineering to coordinate all production and post processing activities. The Engineering Technician will create and support CNC programs, perform process troubleshooting, process improvements, validations, qualifications, and change control.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Create CNC programs for swiss or milling machine centers

  • Develop and maintain cost effective processes and procedures

  • Advocate and implement the highest quality standards and LEAN principles

  • Assess and communicate technical specifications to all departments

  • Identify and complete continuous improvement projects

  • Create and coordinate engineering tests

  • Perform quality assurance tests to ensure specification compliance

  • Assist/or develop in the development of tool design and CNC programming

  • Modify through change control, BOM/BOO within the ERP system

  • Assist with all costing and quoting functions – for tooling

  • Resolve daily manufacturing issues per LEAP structure

  • Maintain machining and secondary operational processes

Requirements:

  • 2 – 3 years of experience in technical field

  • Experience with CAD and CAM software – preferably Solid works and Esprit

  • Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment, especially word and excel

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the design and selection of fixturing and tooling for complex parts

  • Experience in a precision manufacturing shop environment

  • LEAN / Six Sigma training and demonstrated application

  • Experience working within an ISO 13485 environment

  • Ability to travel between sites as needed
