MetroHealth Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Inpatient/Ambulatory Surgery Trauma in CLEVELAND, Ohio
As the site of the county's most experienced Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, we offer one of the only two adult and pediatric burn centers in the state of Ohio. Accommodating a total of more than one million patient visits annually, MetroHealth is an academic medical center for teaching and research and is affiliated with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. We are seeking APPs (ACUTE CARE certified Advanced Practice NPs or PAs) for TRAUMA SURGERY
Rotating shifts, and locations (west and south of Cleveland), including weekends & evenings
In collaboration with a physician, these professionals will deliver direct patient care, including identification, management and/or referral of health problems. Offering pre-, intra-, and post-operative care, these individuals will be responsible for trauma surgery call coverage with inpatient management and/or OR assist.
Additional responsibilities include:
Managing complex illnesses and delivering specialty care.
Functioning in a supportive role to provide optimum care to surgical patients.
Upholding the standards of the system-wide customer service program.
What you'll need to succeed:
Required Credentials:
Graduation from an accredited program (PA / APRN) - APRN candidates must be acute care certified.
Current licensure in the State of Ohio.
Graduate of an approved formal training program for surgical assisting or appropriate related certification from an approved military surgical assisting program.
Trauma or ICU experience as a physician assistant or RN
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of sterile technique and aseptic practices
Knowledge of medications used within an outpatient surgical environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of suture material and different types of skin stitches.
Ability to prioritize work assignments and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to meet the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges with The MetroHealth System within 90 days of placement within position and maintain privileges.
