Job Title: Construction Inspector
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Construction Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will perform all phases of field assignments, interpret specifications and working drawings, and convey intent to contractors. You will be responsible for field inspection, testing, sampling, and equipment maintenance on assigned projects. You will also obtain and record field data, generate and compile field reports, and maintain vehicles and equipment. Additionally, you will work with project staff on design changes, communicate effectively with all entities involved, and ensure public health and safety requirements are met.
Responsibilities
Perform all phases of field assignments.
Interpret specifications and working drawings, conveying intent to contractors.
Manage all aspects of field inspection, testing, testing coordination, sampling, and equipment maintenance.
Obtain and record field data in a legible and organized fashion as required by plans, specifications, or project staff.
Generate and compile field reports.
Maintain vehicles and equipment as required.
Collaborate with project staff on design changes.
Communicate with all entities, keeping everyone fully informed.
Record daily installed construction quantities to review payment requests in terms of progress and amount completed to date.
Understand public health and safety requirements and be fully trained in proper safety procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
3+ years of experience in inspection/materials testing.
NICET Level II Certification or NECTTP Certification.
Experience in construction, construction inspection, and soil evaluation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
ODOT Soil Compaction Certification (Nice to Have)
ODOT Project Experience (Nice to Have)
Work Environment
The work environment includes both lab and construction site settings. You will work on projects such as Turnpike projects from Mile marker 160 to the Pennsylvania Border, ODOT roadway projects, and additional municipal projects. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
