Description

We are offering an opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Cleveland, Ohio. The role primarily involves overseeing budgetary and regulatory compliance within a law office environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all finance-related operations, helping to facilitate growth and expansion.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan and improve processes administered by the Financial Department.

• Oversee the management, maintenance, and analysis of all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to verify compliance with government and banking regulations.

• Assist in decision-making processes by preparing comprehensive documents such as financial statements and forecasts.

• Implement and uphold practices, procedures, and policies across all programs to meet local, state, and federal legal requirements.

• Analyze market trends to maximize profits and expansion, aiding the development and support of short and long-term operational strategies.

• Provide rigorous oversight of the firm's funds and expenditures, continually evaluating the protection and effectiveness of company assets, procedures, policies, and workflow.

• Supervise staff members and provide support to the accounting team, fostering a productive and trusting work environment.

Requirements • Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role.

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management.

• Skilled in conducting Bank Reconciliations and managing General Ledger.

• Experience in handling Journal Entries and performing Month End Close.

• Familiar with accounting software like NetSuite and QuickBooks.

• Experienced in Billing and Legal Billing procedures.

• Capable of performing Account Reconciliation effectively.

• Proficient in Financial Statement Preparation and Forecasting.

• Must have a strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.

• Must have an ability to work independently as well as in a team.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
