We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in The Capital Region. This role falls within the healthcare industry, with a blend of remote and in-office work. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be instrumental in managing and analyzing financial information and processes, including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out account reconciliations and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data

• Manage the general ledger, including recording journal entries

• Conduct flux analysis for balance sheet items, identifying and explaining variances

• Prepare and present financial statements within a strict timeline

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting purposes

• Conduct month-end close procedures, ensuring all transactions and entries are accurately recorded

• Utilize Oracle PeopleSoft and HFM systems for financial management and reporting (not a requirement but a plus)

• Participate in annual financial reporting processes

• Ensure adherence to strict financial closing processes.

Requirements • Candidate must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of accounting.

• Must possess expertise in Account Reconciliation, ensuring all accounts are accurately maintained and discrepancies are identified and resolved.

• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation is required, with the ability to verify the integrity of financial data.

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is vital, including the ability to match bank balances with accounting system records.

• Demonstrable knowledge of General Ledger management is necessary, including the ability to post and review journal entries.

• Proficiency in creating and managing Journal Entries is a must, ensuring the accuracy of all financial transactions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary, including the use of advanced functions for financial analysis and reporting.

• Experience in handling Month End Close activities is required, ensuring all financial data is accurately captured and reported.

• Knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft is required, with the ability to use this software for various accounting tasks.

• Proficiency in using HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) is necessary, aiding in the consolidation, reporting and analysis of financial data.

• Experience in Flux Analysis is crucial, with the ability to analyze and explain variances in financial data.

• Must have experience in Annual Financial Reporting, ensuring all financial statements and reports are prepared and presented in accordance with regulatory requirements.
