SRC is searching for a well-rounded Senior Network Engineer to design and plan Information Technology (IT) networks and architecture, security implementation, network performance monitoring, troubleshooting and support, and scalability and capacity planning for IT requirements for United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) command and control facilities. Manages several projects simultaneously from design to implementation and provide installation oversight at a new facility by engaging with functional area managers (FAMs) and other engineers. Work supporting USSPACECOM will be conducted at the government's facilities in Colorado Springs, CO. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops detailed network design plans for the data center, ensuring they meet DoD requirements and standards Creates network diagrams, schematics, and documentation for the data center infrastructure Oversees the installation and configuration of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment Ensures all network components are correctly set up and optimized for performance and security Implements DoD-approved security protocols and measures within the data center network Configures firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security appliances to protect the network from threats Monitors network performance to identify and resolve issues, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime Uses network monitoring tools to track bandwidth usage, latency, and other key performance indicators Provides technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues within the data center Works with other IT teams to diagnose and resolve complex network problems Conducts capacity planning to ensure the network can handle current and future data center demands Designs scalable network solutions that can grow with the organization's needs
