Location: Columbus, OH
Job Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Pay: $42.94/hr
Schedule: 9-80 (Enjoy a 3-day weekend every other week)
About the Role:
You’ll be involved in the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to post-transfer support. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Electrical, Software, Systems, and Human Factors engineers, to create high-quality mechanical solutions for medical technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop mechanical products, subsystems, and components
Brainstorm and generate innovative product designs
Conduct hands-on testing and prototyping in the lab
Design for plastic injection-molded parts
Utilize SolidWorks (must-have) Nice to have Creo for advanced design solutions
Ensure compliance with QS/ISO standards
Communicate progress effectively with project leadership
Must-Have Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship (Must be eligible for Security Clearance)
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited university)
5+ years of experience in mechanical design
Proficiency in plastic injection-molded part design
Expertise in SolidWorks (must-have)
Preferred Experience:
Experience with PDM or Windchill vaults preferred
Hands-on lab and prototype testing skills
Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2009)
Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS/Abaqus)
Understanding of FDA QSR & ISO 13485 regulations
