Summary :

The Senior Accountant position assumes responsibility and accountability for maintaining accurate and detailed accounting records. This role is responsible for reconciling and reviewing general ledger accounts; posting entries; and researching and clearing variances. This position plays an active role during the period-end closing. The Senior Accountant also provides support for other accounting service areas through assistance in problem resolution, research, and training. Duties also include assignment of special projects or any other accounting functions assigned. Lastly, this role includes supervisory responsibilities, overseeing junior accounting staff and ensuring their work aligns with accounting standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities :

• Actively support the completion of period end closing activities and quarterly/yearly reporting

• Compile, analyze and reconcile assigned balance sheet general ledger accounts, this process includes taking appropriate action to research and clear items on a timely basis

• Post general ledger journal entries on a daily, weekly and monthly basis

• Perform analytical account review and document monthly and quarterly variances

• Ensure accounting records and schedules are maintained in compliance with accounting policies and procedures

• Assist in the development of new processes and modification of existing processes to meet the needs of the organization’s continued growth

• Participate in special accounting projects, which include but is not limited to data input, data retrieval and analysis, testing and research

• Understand and apply US GAAP guidance

• Conduct all activities in a professional manner that reflects the organization’s culture and ethics

• Oversee, mentor, and support junior accounting staff

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university

• CPA or CPA ready preferred

• Related accounting experience (1 to 2 years preferred)

• Intermediate/advanced Excel skills including extensive knowledge of formulas, Pivot tables, and other analytical tools

• Possess strong verbal, communication and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrate attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
