Job Summary

 

To oversee and direct quality patient care in the Home Health Department as well as administer direct patient care if needed.  Provides authoritative procedural guidance in a timely manner and maintains performance improvement activities within the department.  Assists in formulating budget and is accountable for professional growth within the department.

 

Education Requirements

 

Bachelor's degree in nursing is required.

 

Must maintain continuing education hours as required by state of residence licensure.

 

Certification & Licensures Requirements

 

Licensed as a registered nurse with the Mississippi State Board of Nursing or has a compact state licensure as a registered nurse in the state in which you reside is required.

 

Valid driver's license is required.  

 

Experience/Qualifications/Skills

 

Three years' of experience in healthcare/home care.

 

Registered nurse with 1 year of supervisory experience (management, charge nurse, etc.) is required.

 

Able to utilize Microsoft Word and Excel.

 

Language/Communication Skills

 

English Required. Multi-Lingual capabilities enhance the ability to perform this job. Must have the ability to speak effectively and professionally to all staff, management, and all outside individuals at all levels from elementary to professional.

 

Mathematical Skills

 

Skills in adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals without a calculator.

 

Skills in adding and subtracting two-digit numbers

 

Knowledge of the metric system units (length, area, volume, capacity, mass and weight) and U.S. equivalents.

 

Reasoning Ability

 

Must have the ability to apply non-judgmental reasoning capabilities whenever necessary when dealing with patients, visitors, and staff.

 

Critical thinking and multitasking skills are must.

 

Must have reasonable reflective thinking focused on deciding what to believe or do.

 

Must possess purposeful, self-regulatory judgment which results in interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference, as well as explanation of the evidential, conceptual, methodological, criteriological, or contextual considerations upon which that judgment is based.
