Description

Robert Half has an opening for an Accounts Payable Clerk with our client in Covington, Louisiana. This role involves handling the administrative and clerical needs of the finance department, ensuring compliance with company policies, and providing excellent service to internal business partners. This is a short-term contract opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the administrative and clerical needs of the finance department

• Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner

• Ensure compliance with company policies

• Provide excellent customer service to internal business partners

• Assist with internal and external audits as required

• Open, sort and distribute daily department mail

• Sort, log, photocopy, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

• Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling

• Perform special projects as assigned

• Utilize skills and experience in Accounts Payable (AP), Coding Invoices, Data Entry, Invoice Processing, and Microsoft Excel

Requirements

• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis

• Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable (AP) function

• Familiarity with invoice processing and ensuring accuracy of invoices

• Proven ability to perform data entry tasks with high levels of accuracy

• Experience in coding invoices, including understanding of the coding system used in import/export industry

• Basic understanding of import/export regulations and international trade

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with vendors and stakeholders

• Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions based on data

• Willingness to continuously improve and update knowledge and skills
