Job Summary
The Material Handler will:
Follow standard work for material handling (e.g. receiving, shipping, warehousing)
Perform all activities in accordance with safety and quality rules
Use adequate equipment (forklift, tow train) to move material
Records movements of material in the transactional records systems (e.g. receipt, booking)
Make proposals to improve safety, quality, efficiency
This role may require specific accreditation to use specific handling equipment. The local job description must mentioned all necessary accreditation to use on site handling equipment.
Job Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities will include:
Managing inbound material flow
Monitoring inbound delivery performance
Receiving, inspecting, and storing inbound deliveries
Tracking product availability
Picking, packing, and shipping product for delivery
Preparing package and shipment
Managing shipping, carriers, and fleets
Authorising and processing returns
Performing reverse logistics
Performing salvage activities
Managing and processing warranty claims
Locating stock
Preparing stock for movement
Physically moving stock
Maintaining inventory status
Performing physical inventory procedures
Job Qualifications
Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:
Previous experience working in a similar role;
Physically fit and capable of undertaking this type of work;
Willingness and ability to undertake shift work;
Crane sling licence would be advantageous, but not essential;
