About the Role:

As a CBRE Accounting Associate, you will update and maintain records, reconcile general ledger accounts, manage the customer invoicing process, manage project activations, manage time card approvals, and track employee PTO. This person will join like-minded professionals who are continually focused on sharpening their skills and advancing in their profession.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform routine clerical accounting duties within a fast-paced department while adhering to established standards.

  • Serve as a resource for accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Cash applications.

  • Accounts Receivable Aging tracking and follow up.

  • Project activation and updates.

  • Track employee PTO.

  • Employee set up in Dynamics.

  • Oversee monthly invoicing process.

  • Invoice distribution.

  • Prepare journal entries for prepaids, other current assets, customer deposits, hosting costs.

  • Prepare monthly payroll entry and monthly bonus accrual entry.

  • Record direct to intercompany customer payments.

  • Claim and record wire receipts from customers.

  • Review sub accounts on Balance Sheet and Income Statement.

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Manage Aged Receivables.

  • Coordinate and follow up with Project Managers and Account Managers on open timecards, approvals, and corrections.

  • Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, and coding of accounts payable and expense reports for intercompany.

  • Gather and analyze data to identify and solve complex problems that arise with little or no precedent. May recommend new techniques.

  • Impact own team and other teams whose work activities are closely related.

  • Suggest improvements to existing processes and solutions to improve the efficiency of the team.

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in finance or accounting

  • 2-4 years of experience in clerical accounting and/or invoicing

  • Experience with accounting software and strong Excel skills

  • Ability to evaluate and communicates unusual and/or complex content in a concise and logical way.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Advanced organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

  • Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate advanced figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
