Description

Summary:

The Mental Health Associate observes and provides patient care support under the supervision of the RN. Provides clerical support, as necessary, to assigned service.

Responsibilities:

  1. Observes, interacts and provides direction for all patients assigned while under the supervision of an RN. Conveys the patient's objective behavior, level of functioning, & any problems or difficulties the patient is experiencing to RN.

  2. Assists RN in implementing the plan of care for the patient.

  3. Provides a safe and/or secure environment for the patient/community.

  4. Completes all secretarial functions.

  5. Participates in Performance Improvement activities.

  6. Recognizes value of continued professional growth and development.

  7. Assists in orienting new staff.

  8. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: BACHELOR'S LVL DGRE

Other Information:

Required: Experience with psychiatric/emotionally distressed or substance abuse population.

Minimum Experience: one year
