Summary: We are proud to announce the establishment of a state-of-the-art Li-ion battery factory, set amidst the beautiful Kansas City Metro. This groundbreaking green-field factory will serve as a pioneering hub for innovation in sustainable energy solutions.

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.
Position Summary: The Quality Laboratory Technician – Level 4 will work together with the Operations, Engineering and Quality Teams in running tests and inspections, reporting results, identifying defects, and other potential issues and ensuring that products meet customer specifications.
Essential Duties:
Perform high-level data interpretation and analytics tied to Key Performance Indicators
Lead effective and timely containment actions and treatment of nonconforming materials, utilizing computer language scripts or other data visualization tools.
Independently execute product and process audits as required.
Engage in quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing product quality, process improvements or reducing defects.
Provide direction and support as required for QA Inspectors and Operators in quality improvement projects.
Assist process audits as directed by Quality Supervisor.
Support hands-on training of inspectors to improve overall proficiency.
Operate independently sometimes without written SOP’s, analyze data, and make decisions.
Support proper implementation of quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and maintenance, to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
Report quality issues, concerns, or deviations from standards to Supervisors and Engineers in a timely manner.
Maintain detailed inspection, quality issues and deviation records as required.
Ensure adherence to quality, general plant and PECNA policies and procedures.
Ensure area cleanliness and 6S standards are met.
Ability to train others at same or lower level within functional area.
Ability to work all scheduled shifts.
Ability to meet the physical demands and the PPE requirements of the role.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
- To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a requirement for some roles at PENA and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Education
Required: High school diploma, GED or 2 years of prior experience in functional area
Preferred: Associate Degree
Essential Qualifications
Minimum of 4.5 years of related work experience.
Proficiency in documenting test results, inspection findings, and other relevant information accurately and comprehensively.
Working knowledge of metrology, measuring technique and equipment.
Demonstrated proficiency in 100% of technical inspection processes and techniques.
Working knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and regulatory requirements (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS).
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
Basic understanding of Engineering Principles.
Capability to translate technical terminologies and concepts into layman’s term and ability to train non-technical team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
6+ years of related work experience.
Six-sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement project experience.
Demonstrated understanding in PECNA HPC.
