Controllership opportunity available with reputable and growing construction company on Long Island. Deer Park area contractor looks to hire an experienced construction-industry Controller to lead a dynamite department of 10 individuals. Reporting to ownership, your responsibilities will include all day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, and financial activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, monthly close, budgeting and reporting, WIP/job costing, various analyses, tax, as well as providing strategic guidance to ownership, and serving as liaison with auditors, insurance, and banking professionals. Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all day-to-day accounting and financial activities.

• Ensure accurate and efficient processing of accounts payable and receivable.

• Supervise the payroll process and ensure it is carried out accurately and on time.

• Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.

• Develop and manage budgeting processes, offering strategic guidance to ownership.

• Lead and coordinate job costing and various analyses to support business operations.

• Ensure compliance with tax obligations and liaise with auditors as required.

• Serve as a liaison with insurance and banking professionals to ensure all financial matters are handled effectively.

• Use various Accounting Software Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning tools to streamline processes.

• Implement and monitor financial controls, ensuring the company's policies and procedures are adhered to.

Requirements

• Accounting degree, 10+ years of experience, with 5+ years in the Construction industry

• WIP/job costing and project accounting knowledge

• Must be knowledgeable in all Accounting Functions

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR) and Payroll processing

• Budget /Forecasting

• Knowledge of Construction Accounting is necessary for this role
