FlexStaff Quality Engineer (Mechanical Inspection and CMM) in Deer Park, New York

We are looking for a Quality Engineer, to work for one of our clients, an aerospace and industrial manufacturer, located in Deer Park, NY.

This is a permanent, full-time job.

In this role you will be responsible for checking the quality of all incoming and outgoing material and products as well as production procedures.

The ideal candidate would have a previous experience in quality/mechanical inspection and CMM experience, working knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide, oversee, and inspect quality of parts throughout production cycle

  • Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures

  • Perform internal audits

  • Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities

  • Investigate customer issues and complaints relating to quality

  • Use basic measuring equipment for inspection (caliper, micrometer, pin gauges, gauge blocks, height gauge, etc.)

  • Visual inspection of optical surfaces per MIL standards

  • Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies

  • Programming Coordinate Measuring Machine

  • First Article Inspections

  • Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance

  • Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications, etc.)

  • Maintain records of testing, information, and various metrics such as the number of defective products per day etc.

  • Inspect procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards

  • Maintain the calibration system

  • Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesn't meet the requirement.

  • Prepare and submit reports to the quality manager

  • Environmental testing

  • Conduct internal quality audits

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g. location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity).

The salary range for this position is $85,000-$95,000/year
