Job Summary and Qualifications

As a HealthONE Division CARE (Clinical Assets Resourcing Excellence) Float Pool Registered Nurse in any of our Emergency Departments (ER), you will be part of an amazing group of 7 Denver metro area hospitals that include: The Medical Center of Aurora, North Suburban Medical Center, Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center, Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children, Rose Medical Center, Sky Ridge Medical Center and Swedish Medical Center.

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to be part of our HealthONE-HCA family, working together to provide a higher level of care.

What you will do in this role:

  • You will be part of an elite group of experienced nurses supporting staffing needs throughout the HealthONE Denver metro hospital system.

  • You will bring your expertise to the Emergency Department (ER) specialty areas.

  • Identifies and individualizes patient goals. Compares expected and achieved outcomes of nursing care utilizing the plan of care (POC) consistent with the patient’s status, and then formulates, individualizes, and modifies patient plan of care.

  • Completes assessments of patient’s/significant others’ response to illness, the use of coping mechanisms and emotional needs, and incorporates family/significant other into plan of care and reflects the plan of care is individualized for each patient.

  • Identifies and completes assessments of patient/significant other educational needs. Develops and helps implement teaching plan. Provides education consistent with patient's level of understanding using existing resources for patient/significant others.

  • Administers medications and treatments safely. Recognizes and reports errors and unusual occurrences. Analyzes and identifies precipitating factors.

  • Recognizes and responds to crisis situations. Notifies appropriate individuals of actual or impending crisis.

  • Reports and documents patient's symptoms, responses, and progress. Interventions are appropriate to patient’s symptoms, responses, and progress.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state/compact Registered Nurse license.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required at time of hire.

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification required at time of hire.

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required at time of hire.

  • Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) required at time of hire.

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 6-months

  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Curriculum (ENPC) proof of past certification or can be obtained after hire.

  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification can be obtained after hire and maintained.

  • CPI Certification completed within 3 months of hire and maintained.

  • Graduate of a certified School of Nursing. BSN strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of at least two years of RN Emergency Department (ER) experience in acute care.
