RES Sr Accountant Fixed Assets in Denver, Colorado

Summary:

Senior Accountant – Fixed Assets supports the accounting team and partners with FP&A and Operations teams to facilitate accurate, relevant, and timely reporting with focus on company assets, Fleet & Equipment, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Supports and is responsible for the month-end close process for corporate accounting areas of responsibility and reporting, including journal entry preparation and review, reconciliation preparation and review, financial reporting, and compliance.

  • Assists with database management, transaction processing, subledger maintenance, etc. to ensure complete and accurate fixed asset documentation.

  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for statutory and management reporting.

  • Prepares policy and transactional accounting memos by applying US GAAP and IFRS technical guidance.

  • Facilitates and process internal cost allocations and billings.

  • Manages lease accounting process and performs monthly reconciliations.

  • Prepares customer invoices/billings.

  • Prepares and posts journal entries into the ERP, prepare GL account reconciliations, and GL detail analysis.

  • Participates in periodic onsite inventory validations.

  • Reviews, researches transactions, and recommends/records adjusting journal transactions as necessary to ensure accurate and complete financials.

  • Leads the efforts for the different business processes, systems, and reports on process improvement, automation, and efficiency.

  • Researches, produces, reviews, analyzes, and issues periodic reports on general business activity.

  • Reviews, analyzes, and re-classes P&L activity as needed to ensure proper income statement presentation.

  • Collaborates with operation business partners, providing support and guidance for proper accounting treatment.

  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.

  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.

  • Supports the Accounting Manager and Director as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration required. Master's degree preferred. CPA certification preferred.

  • 6 or more years' equivalent experience required.

  • 6 or more years' experience in construction, fixed assets, or fleet preferred.

  • 6 or more years of experience with ERP systems preferred.

  • Ability to travel domestically 5 to 15% required.

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Dedication to excellence.

  • Perform work accurately and in a time-efficient manner, with strong attention to detail, organization, and follow through.

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.

  • Intermediate understanding of accounting and tax rules.

  • Experience of preparation and posting of journal entries into an ERP (preferred).

  • Demonstrated experience in completing capital asset account reconciliations in a timely manner.

  • Experience with conducting physical inventory counts across multiple locations and entities (preferred).

  • Maintain a professional demeanor with co-workers and clients.

Anticipated base salary range: $88,000 - $98,000

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
