Allied Machine & Engineering Setup Special Mill Turn in Dover, Ohio

Allied Machine & Engineering, headquartered in Dover, Ohio, is a leading manufacturer of holemaking and finishing cutting tool systems. Our tooling solutions deliver the lowest cost per hole in a wide range of applications.

In this role, the chosen person will setup and run specials on the mill/turn, inspect product features based on drawing and inspection plans, work with engineering to solve problems that might arise or to develop processes for new product, and run production as directed by the production supervisor following the applicable schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Inspect work per the inspection plan utilizing the tool required.

· To effectively upload and download programs, set up, and process parts to print.

· Process orders according to appropriate schedule and/or Supervisor’s discretion, and properly stage product for the next operation.

· Troubleshoot any problems that should arise and report any area that needs addressed to your immediate Supervisor.

· Will be required to lift, or assist with lifting, parts into the machine, not to exceed the weight requirements of the AMEC Work Procedures.

· Must be compliant with all safety rules and regulations governed by OSHA.

· Associate shall maintain the appropriate tool kit per the "Associate Tool Policy".

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

· Current AMEC apprentice program student, or graduate, is preferred.

Experience

· Two years of CNC set up experience on vertical or horizontal mills, and/or lathes is preferred.

· Experience in use of optical comparator, calipers, micrometers, depth mics, gauge pins, and gauge inserts.

Skills

· In-depth knowledge of blue print reading, utilizing the following:

programming skills

trigonometry skills

· Low absenteeism/tardiness, as determined by management

· Good organization, communication, and planning skills

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 32 lbs.

  • Able to push loads of 100lbs.

  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, indicators, scales and other inspection equipment.

  • On feet 8-12 hrs.
