The Manufacturing Program Engineer is a part of UGN’s Downers Grove (corporate) Engineering team. This position will oversee a variety of engineering projects throughout UGN’s plants and track and monitor various metrics. This position will also oversee aspects of new product launches and develop process improvements.

What you will do for UGN:

  • Oversee a variety of engineering projects for UGN’s manufacturing operations at plant locations.

  • Work with each facility to organize, justify and appropriate the funding for each project.

  • Track and update various metrics as it relates to labor and scrap; develop dashboards and present information to the Director of Engineering.

  • Participate in new product launches; gather data and prepare metrics. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and participate in production trials.

  • Oversee documentation for new product launches. Complete DFM documents for newly awarded programs.

  • Track and monitor RFD completion performance.

  • Generate and update product quote summary sheets for newly quoted programs. Share with plant management, gather feedback and address any concerns.

  • Develop and maintain best practices, partnering with our parent companies.

  • Identify process improvements and oversee implementation with the goal of improving UGN’s manufacturing efficiency.

  • Proactively investigate latest technologies and processes and determine if implementation at UGN is feasible.

  • Collaborate with the plants to develop and maintain skills and expertise of the maintenance teams.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What you will bring to UGN:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) or equivalent from an accredited college or university in electrical or mechanical engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 10 + years experience in engineering program management, automotive manufacturing experience preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications--Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.

  • A high level of technical aptitude and ability.

  • PLC Programming experience preferred (Allen Bradley), Rockwell Software RS Logix 500, 5000, RSView Studio.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in both written and verbal communication of technical information.

  • Proficiency and experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to participate in and lead cross-functional projects.

  • Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints.

  • Experience with Machine Automation in a manufacturing environment.

  • Robotic programming FANUC preferred.

  • Experience with Servo drivers and HMI integration needed.

  • Automotive industry experience and PE certification is a plus.

Pay range: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 and participation in our annual incentive plan. If you are offered this position at UGN, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, experience, and/or geographic location. In addition to those factors, UGN considers internal equity among current Team Members when developing the final offer.
