Your Role
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and generating new business opportunities for Project Logistics in UAE and OMAN. They have a deep understanding of the Project Logistics market, service offerings, and operational requirements. They spend most of their time in customer-facing activities, hunting for new business and working hand in hand with the Pricing and Customer Excellence Teams. They own an account portfolio and seek to grow the Gross Profit for Project Logistics activities and accounts year after year. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead sales and business development efforts in U.A.E. and OMAN, with a focus on identifying and creating new Project Logistics opportunities within the Oil and Gas, MRO, Power, Renewable Energy, Mining, and Infrastructure industries. This includes monitoring and capturing project cargo opportunities from the FEED (Front-End Engineering and Design) stage, managing RFQ/RFI processes, preparing competitive pricing, and driving opportunities to closure (Win/Loss). Additionally, the role involves conducting market research to identify and onboard new local & global customers, aiming to enhance profitability and expand the customer portfolio. The successful candidate will act as a key player in positioning the company as a preferred partner for complex logistics solutions in the target sectors.
Your Responsibilities
Developand maintain an account and project pipeline within a defined geographicmarket and/or customer base. Utilize Liaise and share sales leads with otherKuehne-Nagel offices as needed to maximize opportunities.
Manage customer visits mainly in U.A.E. and Omanand abroad for new and ongoing project cargo opportunities.
Collaboratewith stakeholders to ensure national customers are provided withapplicable and effective solutions. Provide operational supervision when required,based on the nature of the responsibility.
Coordinatetenders and bids for major potential customers, securing necessaryapprovals from relevant stakeholders.
Facilitateregular communication and meetings within the Key Account Management Teamand across other Development Functions. Fostera collaborative environment among all Project Logistics DevelopmentFunctions, including Operations,
Understand and respond to customers' urgent needsfor all freight forwarding activities.
Provide spot quotations and perform up-sellingand cross-selling during inbound customer calls.
Perform duties in accordance with companypolicies, objectives, and Management System documents related to Health,Quality, Safety standards. Identifykey countries/markets for assigned customers and support the formation ofglobal development/account management teams.
Your Skills and Experiences
Bachelor’sdegree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (master’sdegree is a plus).
Provenexperience in business development or project logistics within thelogistics and supply chain industry.
Proficiencyin CRM tools and managing customer data effectively.
Strongunderstanding of Project logistics operations, tender processes, andmarket dynamics.
Familiaritywith HSE standards and compliance requirements.
Excellentcommunication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Strongorganizational and time management abilities, with a results-orientedapproach.
Willingnessto travel as required and proficiency in English (additional languages area plus).
