Understand each entity's role, including vendors and defense organizations, and assess the needs of the arrested. Understand the timeline and process from arrest to arraignment of the arrestee. Identify and relate relevant healthcare information of arrestees in a timely manner for a smoother screening process. Establish rapport with other stakeholders in central booking facilities, including police and corrections. Coordinate with hospital's clinical staff, community treatment providers, and public defense agencies. Identify clients who are appropriate for behavioral health intervention and serve as a liaison between community providers and public defense agencies.

• A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent
• LMHC License - required
• MSW or Master's in Forensic Psychology - Preferred

• Five (5) years satisfactory full-time work experience providing direct counsel, guidance, crisis intervention, or informational and referral services to inmates of a correctional facility, substance abuse, or a similar population.
• Strong organizational skills for collecting data and reporting on the performance of the program.
• Preferred - 3 - 5 years of experience working within the criminal justice system or with programs serving the justice-involved population.
• Preferred - Commitment to serving medically vulnerable population.
• Knowledge of the criminal justice and public health systems in New York City, including the action plan of the Mayoral Task Force in Behavioral Health and Criminal Justice.
• Preferred - Established relationships with Legal Aid, New York County Defenders, and Neighborhood Defenders.
• Established relationships with and/or knowledge of alternative to detention programs.
• Fluency in Spanish.
