Invenergy projects enable a more sustainable, flexible, and resilient grid. We are growing our team in the UK and the Grid Connections Manager position is seen as a core hire for our expanding team.

Position Overview

As an Associate, Renewable Development at Invenergy (https://invenergy.com), you will manage the development of grid connection processes and design for utility scale renewables and energy storage in the United Kingdom and Ireland regions. Candidates are required to be based within central Scotland.

Responsibilities

  • Grid capacity identification;

  • Delivery of the grid connection packages for projects throughout their lifecycle;

  • Support the development team with project design, procurement and feasibility;

  • Identify and mitigate project risks, cost grid liabilities including likely curtailment;

  • Manage the delivery of works by electrical and grid connection contractors and licenced providers;

  • Act as the company’s interface with network companies (DNOs, TOs and the SO), engage as required to achieve successful outcomes;

  • Create and support corporate investment committee presentations for key development approvals when requested;

  • Manage a wide variety of competing tasks according to various budget and schedule constraints, including coordinating internal and external technical support;

  • Track record of delivering to budget and program; and

  • experience of managing project economics and problem solving.

Required Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in delivering distribution and transmission grid connections;

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience;

  • A robust understanding of grid connection process, regulations and policy as well as regulatory and policy evolution;

  • Demonstrable relationships within energy industry;

  • Experience of working directly with DNOs, TOs and the SO;

  • Network analysis and understanding of how power systems work;

  • Commercial awareness; and

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
