To meet these growth challenges, WSP is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer, Renewable Energy to join our team in one of our offices in Canada. This position is available in our Quebec City, Montreal and Edmonton offices.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Actively participate in the execution of projects in the renewable energy industry (solar, wind, BESS);

  • Perform detailed engineering work for high-voltage and medium-voltage electrical substations;

  • Perform detailed engineering work for medium-voltage power collection systems (AC/DC);

  • Prepare technical specifications for the acquisition of electrical equipment;

  • Perform power system studies (short-circuit, power flow, cable ampacity, wave quality, protection and coordination, grounding, transients, etc.);

  • Write Technical Reports and give recommendations;

  • Work with multidisciplinary teams;

  • Maintain a good relationship with clients and understand their needs;

  • Support the business development team;

  • Contribute to the performance of independent engineering mandates.

We’d love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • A certification in electrical engineering that is recognized in at least one Canadian province and about five years of relevant experience;

  • Experience in renewable energy project design (solar, wind, BESS);

  • Work experience with design software such as ETAP, Easy Power, Cymcap, PSCAD, PSS/E, CDEGS, WinIGS, etc.;

  • Experience in the designing of high-voltage substations;

  • Experience in the designing of medium-voltage power collection systems;

  • Knowledge of industry standards and interconnection requirements on different Canadian networks;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Proven ability to cooperate with various stakeholders.
