FlexStaff Full-Time Nuclear Radiologic Technologist (SPECT and PET), Level III, Queens, NY Elmhurst, New York

FlexStaff is seeking a Nuclear Radiologic Technologist, Level III to work for one of our external clients, the largest city health system for their location in Queens, NY.

Requirements:

  • Valid license and current registration to practice as a Radiologic Technologist, specializing in Nuclear Medicine issued by the NYSDOH; AND

  • Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) issued by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

This is a permanent, full-time job. Schedule: 8:30a -4:30p, 8 hour shifts, no weekends, no rotations.

In this role you would be performing complex nuclear medicine examinations, including all procedures using radionuclides by operating more advanced nuclear medicine instruments and equipment (e.g., Positron Emission Tomography - Computed Tomography (PET-CT) and Single-Photon Emission Computerized Tomography (SPECT) to assist medical staff in diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Advanced Imaging: Perform complex nuclear medicine procedures, including SPECT and PET.

  • Radiopharmaceutical Oversight: Manage preparation and handling of radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring safety standards.

  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control protocols for imaging equipment and practices.

  • Supervision: Train and supervise junior technologists and students.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement workflow enhancements.

  • Data Analysis: Collaborate with physicians to interpret complex imaging data.

  • Research Participation: Engage in research projects and clinical trials.

  • Equipment Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve equipment issues.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to radiation safety regulations.

  • Emergency Leadership: Lead emergency response protocols during imaging procedures.

When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g. location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity).

The salary range for this position is $125,000-$125,000/year
