Job Title: Entry Level Mechanic - Mechanical Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated professional in a machine shop setting to ensure that parts are clean and ready for inspection. You will use various tools to clean parts, move them through different production stages, and match up paperwork for completed work orders. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Ensure parts are clean and ready for inspection

• Use wire wheels and other tools to clean parts

• Move parts to different stages within production

• Match up paperwork for all completed work orders

• Place all parts in proper bin locations

• Pull parts for sales orders as needed, ensuring deliveries are correctly placed

• Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Skills

• Experience with grinding, polishing, and general labor

• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment

• Experience with crane operation up to 20 tons

• Capability to handle heavy lifting

• Proficiency in using tape measures

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required

• Strong work ethic

• Ability to handle tools

• Ability to interpret work instructions

• Ability to work independently

• Overtime may be required based on customer demand

Work Environment

The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration, with a moderate noise level. Physical demands include frequent reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. The job requires regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds, with lifting equipment recommended. Starting $18/hr 1st shift or $19.80/hr for 2nd shift Shift in Evansville, IN!

The pay range for this position is $38480.00 - $42328.00/yr.
