Adecco Healthcare is searching for an Histopathology Technician to become part of our client's team in Fairfield, CA . This is a direct-hire, full-time, and permanent opportunity.

Pay

$61,023-$79,331

Shift

  • Monday - Friday

  • 40 hours per week

  • No on-call or night

Job Summary

  • Prepare tissue specimens from various parts of the body for diagnostic examination.

  • Assist the pathologist in cutting and preparing specimens for microscopic evaluation.

  • Operate complex immunohistochemical stainers to produce targeted immunostains.

  • Evaluate and validate new immunohistochemical tests, select proper control specimens, and perform cryotomy to prepare and stain tissue for rapid intraoperative cancer diagnosis.

  • Independently plan and organize daily responsibilities within the histology section and ensure timely processing and shipment of surgical cases and other pathologic specimens to specialty labs.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Histopathology Technician in a clinical/medical setting.

  • Must be direct lab experience assisting pathologists with: processing human specimen; assisting clinical staff with examining tissues and body part for abnormalities; utilizing automated data equipment to create a test log and/or input test results; reviewing patient medical records in a laboratory setting.

  • No degree required.

  • No ASCP certification required.
