Your Opportunity

As a Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Coordinator, you will be called upon to support the managers and employees of our multidisciplinary Infrastructure team in the application of safety policies and procedures and to collaborate with the North American HSSE Team in growing our safety culture.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Depending on your areas of interest and development, your role will consist of:

  • Working collaboratively with the Infrastructure HSSE team and the Regional HSSE team to promote a healthy and safe work culture that is also compliant with regulations and adopted policies and procedures;

  • Advising and coordinating with the group on the application of health and safety policies for the various high-risk work and following up on the various processes;

  • Informing managers and employees of best practices in health and safety and ensuring compliance with them;

  • Participating in work coordination meetings to analyze and support team members in the implementation of risk mitigation measures.

  • Monitoring HSSE indicators and accident statistics

  • Supporting the regional and Infrastructure HSSE Team in investigations in the event of workplace accidents;

  • Ensuring that work methods comply with laws and regulations, procedures and standards.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Training in occupational health and safety including professional safety certification is desired.

  • Experience in HSSE Related to field operations is preferred.

  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational aiblities.

  • A willingness to work as part of a team with a minimal amount of supervision.

  • A valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and access to a vehicles is required.

  • Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Education and Experience

A minimum of one year experience in a health and safety profession in an advisor role or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field from a recognized university preferred.

Experience providing safety support for construction projects is preferred.

Position will primarily work in an office setting, with up to 10% field work. Some travel (up to 5% average) may be required. Position must be able to work outside in inclement weather and navigate uneven terrain.
