Chemours is seeking a Manufacturing Chemical Lab Operator to join our growing Operations team! This position will report directly to the Production Specialist in our Fayetteville, NC location.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Run samples received from the Operating areas according to SOPs and communicate with area, from which any sample was received, on any test that is not within SOC’s, to help area minimize quantity of product out of SOC’s.

  • Operate analytical equipment for process control analysis. Troubleshoot equipment operations and analyses when data is suspect.

  • Operate gas chromatography, FTIR, HPLC, and mass spectrometer equipment for assay and trace analysis components as well as wet chemistry titrations.

  • Maintain an overall knowledge of the dangers and chemicals in the laboratory.

  • Know how to use the MSDS system.

  • Enter samples and data into the LIMS system and retrieve data as required.

  • Maintain daily equipment checks and repairs. Make sure equipment is working properly for areas to use, and to notify proper personnel if it is not.

  • Maintain lab parts/supplies inventory.

  • Keep lab equipment properly organized (5S).

  • Keep utilization of analytical metrics (KPIs) up to date and visible

The following is required for this role:

  • All applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of 2 years prior work experience in a lab environment or an Associate degree or greater in a Science field.

  • Possess a mechanical aptitude.

  • Must be willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift including some weekends and holidays.

  • Must be willing and able to frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

The following is preferred for this role:

  • Experience working with highly hazardous chemicals following stringent safety protocols and procedures

  • Experience working with gas chromatography, FTIR, HPLC, and mass spectrometer equipment
