Finding the right fit:
Ayres is seeking a confident and motivated manager to lead our SUE and Survey group in Colorado. We’re seeking a person who has an entrepreneurial spirit, and a visionary mindset; one that will lead a strategic approach and further growth for the division. Specifically, this manager will be based in Fort Collins, Colorado, and will oversee SUE as well as survey operations for staff located in Colorado. This person will also demonstrate a passion to represent Ayres to existing and targeted clients and manage the daily office operations by cultivating a team environment.
On any given day, you’ll:
Develop the long-range strategic plan, marketing plan, and the annual business plan for the group with particular emphasis on the annual financial plan, capital purchase, budget, marketing, and training plan sections.
Meet the goals and objectives of the annual business plan and budget, including revenue and profitability goals, workload backlog, billing, and accounts receivable.
Supervise the work activities of project managers, surveyors, technicians, and other assigned specialists.
Foster an environment that encourages staff growth, flexibility, and creativity, as well as a company culture that champions inclusion and overall employee well-being.
Oversee project managers to assure that projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in conformance with the quality standards of the firm and the requirements of the contract.
Act as the company representative and spokesperson in the community, as well as actively engage in local, statewide, and/or national professional organizations.
Conduct business development activities, including client contact, marketing, and monitoring client satisfaction.
Understand and adhere to corporate policies/procedures while preparing and overseeing quality assurance and quality control procedures.
Prepare, negotiate, and approve contract documents, including scope of work, project schedule, and fee estimates provided by group project managers.
Prepare and oversee quality assurance and quality control procedures.
Coordinate with other operational divisions to cultivate a team environment that leads to efficient and collaborative results.
Collaborate with the Division admin team to streamline and ensure division, office, and project related policies and procedures are followed by employees of the group.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or associate degree in land surveying, geography, engineering, or other related disciplines.
Knowledge of SUE and survey processes and technology.
A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Prior experience in supervising staff, managing projects, and developing new and maintaining existing clients.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Desired Skills and Experiences:
Colorado Professional Engineer or Surveyor registration or ability to achieve within one year.
In-depth knowledge of SUE laws in Colorado.
In-depth knowledge of SUE processes and technology.
In-depth experience with survey.
Eagerness to cultivate a team environment where all staff members feel valued and supported and all ideas flow freely.
A self-motivated, performance-driven leader with excellent people skills.
Proven business development skills and a strong reputation with clients.
A well-established existing network of contacts is highly desirable.

Our good-faith compensation approach is fair and equitable, and takes into consideration only permissible factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, training, skills, and experience, and geographic location where the work is performed. A salary range for this posting is $135000 - $175000. The foregoing salary range represents what the company believes, in good-faith, it will pay for the posted opportunity. The individual selected for this role will be evaluated with the compensation factors in mind and placed appropriately.
