City Of Fort Lupton Summer Camp Leader Fort Lupton, Colorado
Starting pay range for position: $16.31-$17.00 per hour 20-40 hours per week. Monday - Friday. Summer Camp operates May 27 - August 1, 2025. Pre-Service Training to take place the month of May (online and in person). Approximately 25-30 hours of pre-service training.
The Summer Camp Leader provides direction and supervision of activities for youth (ages 5-12 years old) within the guidelines of established policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned. Assists in supervision and instructing of a variety of activities for youth ages 5-12 years Ensures safety of child, parents, visitors and co-workers Possess a professional and welcoming demeanor Maintains the cleanliness of facilities and vehicles Communicates with parents regarding child's activities Must have ability to visually and audibly supervise children in a variety of situations Must be highly motivated and take direction well with excellent interpersonal and communication skills Will have knowledge of child care programming, recreation and its application, safety and emergency first-aid procedures, program management, and customer service principles DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Level of Supervision: None. Guidance and Decision Making: Duties assigned are primarily routine, repetitive and restricted in intricacy with little or no discretion in how they are carried out. Qualifications and Requirements: Competency, Knowledge and Skill: Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, rescue, bend, kneel, stoop, squat, twist, push, pull, jump, climb, reach, talk, hear, and see. The employee is also required to frequently perform light to heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: None. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Minimum of 480 hours of verifiable full time or equivalent part-time experience working with children in a similar setting with children of same age as position assignment. Must meet appropriate Leader requirements/qualifications and provide all documentation as required by the State of Colorado's Department of Human Services upon hire. Bilingual preferred. LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATION: CPR/AED or obtainable before first day of employment. First Aid or obtainable before first day of employment. Standard Precautions or obtainable before first day of employment. Medication Administration or obtainable before first day of employment. Complete fifteen (15) training hours annually. Satisfactory criminal background check including Colorado Bureau of Investigations and TRAILS/Central Registry criminal record review as required by the Colorado Department of Social Services within five (5) working days of employment. Provide all documentation as required by the State of Colorado Child Care Licensing Division upon hire. Complete all necessary trainings that are required by the Colorado Department of Early Childhood within thirty (30) days of employment. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within thirty (30) days of employment. OTHER REQUIREMENT: Minimum age of 18 years.
