[Job Title: Student Financial Aid Resource Specialist (32796) *[Join Purdue University Fort Wayne: [We are currently seeking a full-time on-site *Student Financial Aid Resource Specialist in our Financial Aid office. This positions primary responsibility is to enhance students' understanding of financial aid processes, financial literacy, and overall financial wellness. This position his position is responsible for educating students on the importance of financial planning, assisting with the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and providing guidance on managing personal finances. This position pays an annual salary of $43,888.

  • Conduct workshops, seminars, and one-on-one sessions to educate students on the financial aid process, including FAFSA submission, scholarship applications, and loan options.
  • Provide clear and accurate information on financial aid policies, procedures, and deadlines.
  • Assist students and their families with the FAFSA completion process, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Offer support in understanding and navigating the FAFSA, including answering questions and resolving issues.
  • Develop and deliver financial literacy programs that cover topics such as budgeting, saving, credit management, debt repayment, and financial planning.
  • Collaborate with other university departments to integrate financial literacy into orientation programs, first-year experience courses, and other student activities.
  • Provide personalized financial counseling to students, helping them understand their financial aid packages and make informed financial decisions. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, education, or a related field.
  • Assist students in creating and maintaining personal budgets and financial plans.
  • Create and maintain educational materials, such as brochures, guides, and online resources, to support financial literacy initiatives.
  • Stay updated on current trends and best practices in financial literacy education and financial aid.
  • Partner with campus departments, student organizations, and community agencies to promote financial literacy and awareness.
  • Represent the Office of Financial Aid at campus events, open houses, and community outreach activities.
  • Supervise the Federal Work Study (FWS) student employees.

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in financial aid administration, financial literacy education, or student services in a higher education setting.
  • Working knowledge of financial aid processes, including FAFSA, grants, scholarships, and loans.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and highly attentive to detail.
