Kerry Inc. seeks Food Safety and Quality Manager at its facility located at 7401 Will Rogers Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76140.

Key responsibilities

Responsible to ensure effective food safety compliance and work with plant management team to implement programs to mitigate risk. Support Food Safety and HACCP program and team at site level, ensure good manufacturing practices, preventive controls and prerequisite programs are in place and effective. Support the plant Food Safety & Quality System to produce safe quality food, maintain BRC certification, utilize Kerry Manufacturing Standards. Support food safety and quality systems which include QC & QA. Develop, review, and align procedures with corporate KFMS, through Intelex, with a drive towards global best practice. Internally audit practices and procedures for improvement to prevent non-conformances. Quality system shall include food safety, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Quality Control in SAP, material control, sanitation, and Food Safety Plans, as required by Intelex and KFMS. Enforce Kerry manufacturing standards in the areas of ingredient and product standards, process specifications, formula compliance, sanitation/GMP/pest control, and regulatory audit compliance. Ensure that the products released are compliant and safe foods. Support the site for regulatory inspections (FDA/CFIA), identify preserved and customer audits. Track and trend agreed upon KPIs. Support the plant Quality Improvement and Master Plans. Partner cross-functionally in quality and process improvement. Develop Kerry Production Stream through training activities to drive improvements to align with Kerry U.K. Be proactive and responsive in supporting customer complaints, communicating effectively on technical issues and ensure the root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions. Develop and maintain qualified personnel within the quality department, through training, communication, and accountability and this may involve recruitment, organizational development, personnel assessment, training, direction, and motivation. Support the department within budgets and utilize resources effectively to meet needs of the business on a timely basis. Continuously improve knowledge of products and technology to investigate variation and resolve technical problems with the team. Apply scientific approach with statistical analysis to data and problem solving. Act as the primary technical liaison to support site with customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications and skills

This position requires a bachelors, degree, or foreign equivalent, in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related bioscience field plus four (4) years of experience in quality experience, food safety industry, or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Building applications using relevant GFSI standards such as BRC in order to ensure implementation of food safety programs and secure site GFSI certification; (2) Utilizing Intelex and SAP to manage the quality and food safety systems; (3) Working in a plant environment producing food products, such as RTE (ready to eat), and implementing associated quality food safety programs; (4) Applying expertise in Food Safety regulations applicable to food products, HACCP /food safety experience, and industry and market trends to ensure quality food safety programs and compliance with food safety regulations; (5) Onboarding new products and complying with federal regulations specializing in meat and complex meat and meat alternative production methodologies in the food, chemical, or Pharmaceutical industry; and (6) Quality management systems, GFSI audit standards, SSOPs, Environmental hygiene programs, prerequisite programs, HACCP, Kerry Manufacturing Standards in order to ensure ongoing management of food safety programs, certifications, and compliance to regulations. Up to 10% of domestic travel is required for meetings, trainings and plant visits where needed.
