American Airlines, Inc. has openings for an Sr. Data Engineer, IT Analytics to perform the following duties: Responsible for bringing data engineering, collaboration, and analytics skills to help cultivate a data-driven culture by designing and delivering analytics solutions and making data analytics easier and more effective for American Airlines; Perform multiple aspects involved in the Agile development lifecycle including design, cloud engineering, ingestion, preparation, data modeling, testing, CICD pipelines, performance tuning, deployments, consumption, BI, alerting, prod support; Provide technical leadership and collaborate within a team environment as well as work independently; Work closely with source data application teams and product owners to design, implement and support analytics solutions that provide insights to make better decisions; Build an access layer on top of data warehouse for business queries and BI reporting; Implement data migration and data engineering solutions on cloud platform using Azure products and services: (Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Databricks, etc.) and traditional data warehouse tools; Work on ingestion tools like Apache Nifi for consuming MQ messages; Participate in DevOps team that completely owns and supports their product including working with internal and external teams, use DevOps toolchain like Azure DevOps and version control tools for CICD; Participate in DevOps/Agile team, and support their products 24x7; Implement batch and streaming data pipelines using cloud technologies; Lead development of coding standards, best practices, and privacy and security guidelines; Mentor others on technical and domain skills to create multi-functional teams; Identify technical debts and work on refactoring the code.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field plus 3 years of experience as Developer, Data Engineer, or any occupation in which the required experience was gained, and demonstrated experience in: Software solution development using agile, DevOps, operating in a product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions; Data analytics experience using SQL; Amazon AWS, Google GCP, Microsoft Azure, or Cloudera Hadoop; Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure functions, Azure Data Explorer, and Azure Power Apps; Write Databricks notebooks to ingest data from streaming solutions including Azure Event Hubs; Engineer ingested data using coding languages including SQL, Unix, Python, and PySpark; Building high-volume ETL/ELT solutions and developing parallel jobs; Teradata Database; Building CICD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins and GitHub Actions; Building data engineering pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks and Azure Event Hubs; Database/SQL performance tuning; Azure admin and Support Experience; Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, or Grafana; Data Governance Framework; Airline industry experience. #LI-DNI
