Fremont Sand and Gravel Laborer/Equipment operator in Fremont, Indiana

This position is responsible for providing support and assistance in a sand and gravel mining operation. This position will perform truck loading operations, site cleanup and shoveling sand/gravel. This position will also require operating a wheel loader and moving product materials through our production and delivery process when necessary. Additionally, it is the responsibility of this position to maintain the ground cleanliness. Work performed is expected to meet or exceed guidelines for safety, quality, accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness. Must be reliable and timely in reporting to work. Competencies include the ability to: think and work safely, operate equipment including forklift, front end loaders, and dump trucks, interact professionally with external contacts (customers, drivers, etc.), accurately troubleshoot, gain the trust and respect of co-workers and management, communicate effectively and develop good working relationships with others, conduct self with honesty and integrity, take initiative to notice what needs to be done and the good judgment to act appropriately. The duties below are not all inclusive, therefore other duties may be assigned as needed.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Load customer trucks and trailers using a Wheel Loader Perform general maintenance on equipment (Servicing equipment, greasing, cleaning, etc.) Work with other employees on your team to perform general plant maintenance, repairs, and other work where needed. Operate other types of equipment on the property such as Wheel Loaders, skid steer, excavator, Yarder and haul truck. Work safely while following safety rules and MSHA regulations. Other duties as assigned.

Physical Environment: The duties of this job include physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, standing, reaching, sitting, walking, lifting (up to 100 pounds). Requires excellent eye-hand coordination for operation of equipment. May be required to sit for extended periods of time and move in and out of equipment periodically throughout the workday, onto uneven terrain.
