Become a Materials Management & Logistics Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this role, you’ll lead a team responsible for material handling operations, including storing, tracking, and distributing materials critical to the construction, installation, repair, maintenance, and operation of the Grid Telecom Network and Data Center. You’ll deliver single point of contact, customer-focused, end-to-end order fulfillment, warehousing, logistics, and management for over $60M worth of capital project materials in support of Engineering, Power Systems Control, and Grid Data Center.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Manages resources and budget levels to meet strategic objectives and operational needs. Manages, trains, and develops staff by providing timely feedback, coaching and support. Demonstrates Company values through decisions and actions. Promotes the Company’s safety culture to ensure a safe work environment.

  • Directs material management and logistics for Grid Services and Edison Carrier Solutions to deploy and maintain proprietary voice, data, wireless, and telecommunications networks, systems, and facilities. Creates strategic alliances with vendors as well as resolves material readiness issues.

  • Maintains a high-level understanding of products and services required by clients and the tools and processes developed by the team used by clients. Provide input on how to improve tools and processes. Focuses on operational readiness as new vendors, products, and services are introduced into the organization and created into the Service Catalog.

  • Administers the IBEW Collective Bargaining Agreement, resolves grievances at the first step, and provides recommendations for escalated grievances; Ensures work group compliance with applicable safety and environmental policies and regulations.

The essentials

  • Five (5) or more years of experience performing or supervising Materials Management, Logistics, or Warehouse operations.

  • Experience managing or supervising a high volume and dollar metric driven operating model

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, or related major.

  • Experience supervising a Bargaining Unit.

  • Three (3) or more years of experience performing in a request management and logistics function.

  • Supply Chain Management Certification

  • Knowledge of SAP Ariba, including transactions related to procurement and material management.

  • Experience and familiarity with operational requirements of an enterprise wide telecommunications network, and the role that logistics and material support play in the efficient reliable operation.

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs
