LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is looking for an enthusiastic, team-oriented, and goal-driven, individual to join the team as a Medical Office Coordinator in Gainesville, FL. This position is responsible for coordinating essential Medical Office functions of the Medical Office Specialists through effective collaboration with the Medical Office Supervisor, Director of Nursing and Medical Services, and Medical Director

Requirements Include (but not limited to)
Perform all job functions and maintain permanent records in accordance with the blood centers Standard Operating Procedures
Shared weekend on-call rotation
Ability to draft letters in proper format
Answer incoming phone calls from donors, staff, and other parties and address and document requests/questions appropriately.
Perform administrative functions for adverse transfusion events
Receive and process incoming Donor Inquiries
Training/observation in donor eligibility, donation process and venipuncture
Entry of donor HLA typing into database as received from Cellular Therapy
Compile Donor Incident list for recruitment.
Coordinate donor records for Legal
May manage and implement special projects as assigned
Qualifications
Associate degree, or higher, required.
Administrative and computer experience
Basic-intermediate computer skills and experience with computer programs
Ability to train co-workers to perform a task
Ability to direct co-workers daily tasks
Ability to work independently and handle multiple assignments concurrently
Detail oriented and possess excellent organizational and communication skills
Previous blood banking and/or medical background preferred
