Job Description:
The University of Florida College of Nursing is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented part-time (0.15 FTE - 6 hours per week) Research Interventionist - Financial Counselor to join our team for a large behavioral clinical trial focused on the management of chronic pain in older adults. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering an IRB-approved financial counseling and insurance navigation intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
Participant Interaction and Monitoring:
Deliver and monitor weekly interventions (in-person or virtually).
Monitor smartwatch data for ecological momentary assessments and interventions, ensuring proper function and data transmission.
Develop financial resources for participants.
Maintain participant blinding.
Data Management:
Collect and enter data into management systems.
Ensure compliance with IRB protocols.
Resolve technical issues related to data collection and transmission.
Operational Support:
Prepare study materials and manage participant screening, consent, scheduling, communication, follow-up, and compensation.
Assist with workflow at GNV and JAX sites.
Participate in weekly lab meetings.
Community Engagement:
Support community outreach and activities.
Recruit and retain participants.
Serve as a liaison to community-based organizations.
Participate in problem-solving activities to adjust recruitment and retention strategies.
Training and Compliance:
Follow IRB-approved protocols.
Train new research assistants.
Promote human participant protections throughout the research process.
Publication and Presentation:
Assist with the publication of research findings.
Prepare presentations for conferences and meetings.
Expected Salary:
$43.35/hourly
Minimum Requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in allied health, economics, public health or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, clinical, and research experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
EDUCATION & TRAINING: Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in allied health, economics, public health or related field.
EXPERIENCE: Experience as a research assistant or community health educator in research, clinical trials, and/or academic medical settings. A customer-service orientation and/or experience working with older adults and health disparities populations
KNOWLEDGE: Familiar with regulations surrounding research participant recruitment, including human-subject protection, health studies and Institutional Review Boards
SKILLS: Demonstrated expertise in clinical trials management systems, survey tools such as REDCap, and computer systems applications, including Word for Windows, TEAMS, Excel, SPSS, Endnote, Zoom.
ABILITIES: Excellent organization, timeliness to meet deadlines, strong communications skills, attention to detail, outcomes driven, committed to learning, respectful and professional, and tolerant. Ability to plan, execute and complete work assignments independently, efficiently and accurately while working as part of a team in a multidisciplinary work environment.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Able to carry small boxes and transport study supplies between locations.
