Job Description:

The Department of Pathology, Immunology & Laboratory Medicine, University of Florida College of Medicine is currently seeking highly motivated, well-organized and enthusiastic Research Assistant Scientist with at least 3-4 years of postdoc experience, contributing to our research in the fields of drug development for the cancer immunotherapy, as well as the study of complex interactions between the cell types within the tumor microenvironment of colorectal cancers.

  • Candidate is expected to plan, design, and conduct experiments with independence.

  • Analyzes experimental data. Prepares for discussion, presentation, and publication.

  • Performs biochemical characterization of novel PROTACs against translational targets for cancer immunotherapy, mainly using AML for therapeutic development.

  • Performs immune cell-based assays, including flow cytometry using Aurora Cytek, GeoMX based spatial transcriptomics/proteomics, single cell RNAseq etc.

  • Documents and interprets results of experiments and report to principal investigators.

  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.

  • Helps to write and prepare manuscripts.

  • Expected to develop and write independent extramural grants.

Expected Salary:

Salary range is between $70,000 - $80,000 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Ph.D. in Basic Science, Medical Science, or a related field, and 3-4 years of Post-doctoral training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Cancer Biology, Immunology and/or related biomedical sciences.

  • Experience in administrating mouse with tumors, drugs, or other procedures.

  • Experience with purification of different immune compartments in the intestines, such as IEL, lambda propria, Peyers patches etc under the context of colon cancer models.
