Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Inventory Associate, Periop - Clinical Supply Chain - Zekendorf/Garden City. In this role, the successful candidate Performs supply inventory, ordering, unpacking, and stocking of supplies used in surgery. Utilizes Par Assist Inventory Control System, Pyxis stock stations and Supply Chain system for ordering. Documentation for equipment repair and other related activities, as necessary, in caring for the Peri-Operative patient.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Performs inventory and initiates ordering of warehouse and external supplies utilizing Par Assist, Pyxis, verbal communication from a Service Manager, direct request of immediate supervisor and Operative Implant Record. Maintains correct par levels via Par Assist Barcode system. Processes order via each system in a timely manner, keeping in mind the trigger points for the Par Assist. Investigates proper deliver to location if not specified on order. If ordering via the HBOC system, orders are directed to appropriate cost center.
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Communicates effectively with other hospital personnel. Utilizes appropriate communication in all interactions.
    • Initiates paperwork for equipment leaving the Hospital for repair. Follows hospital policy with regard to the return of items to the vendor in need of repair or those deemed defective by the surgeon. Ensures delivery of items to the Receiving dock for return to vendor.
    • Monitors supply levels, upcoming procedures and back-orders and reports issues or problems to manager or designee. Maintains open communication with managers of each Service to facilitate resolution of concerns or problems with inventory and backorders.
    • Unpacks and distributes inside and outside orders to appropriate departments. Follows hospital policy with regard to special handling of supplies, (i.e. fresh, frozen and refrigerated supplies) and ensures the use of the TIMS system for documentation. Ensures prompt delivery, of above listed items, to appropriate personnel in each department.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School or GED. 1 - 2 years Inventory Management Operations Systems. Good communication (both oral and written) interpersonal, phone etiquette skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Par Assist, PYXIS, orHBOC materials management system.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $42,075.15 - $46,360.38 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
