Job Purpose and Impact
The Refined product derivative trader will identify and take advantage of business opportunities through market information systems. In this role, you will analyze and synthesize refined product fundamental information and deploy risk into the relevant markets.
Key Accountabilities
Apply a deep understanding of financial trading practices and procedures to develop and execute the long term trading strategies and books.
Execute fundamental driven trades in refined product markets, with a focus on Distillate and Fuel oil markets.
Keep team up to date on fundamental drivers in refined product markets, including cash and basis markets, financial flows and transportation and infrastructure issues.
Coach and mentor other members within the team in the generation of profit.
Execute and monitor higher proprietary trading positions and exposures including the long term trading book and ensure accurate recordings to reflect proprietary trading positions and strategies traded.
Foster relationships with strategic internal and external stakeholders.
Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Extensive refined products derivative trading experience
Minimum of 10 years of related work experience
Extensive experience utilising fundamental and market participant models
Experience in building and executing fundamental based trading strategies

Preferred Qualifications/experience
The ability to make sense of complex, high-quantity, and sometimes contradictory, information to effectively solve problems.
Experience in interpreting and applying key financial indicators to make better business decisions.
Possess detailed knowledge of Distillate and/or Fuel oil markets - Have working knowledge of primary and secondary refining economics, freight and arbitrage economics, and demand drivers.
Have detailed knowledge of Supply and Demand balances in the refined product markets.
Have working experience around refinery and transportation infrastructure
